Puzzles is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information to enhance your puzzle-solving experience:
- Player Name / Display Name: Stored locally in your browser cookies for personalization; we may also store your display name on our servers when you use features such as leaderboards or rankings
- Game Preferences: Difficulty settings, region preferences, and game progress stored in browser cookies
- Game Achievements: We may store on our servers data such as scores, rankings, completion progress, and badges when you participate in leaderboards, rankings, or progress-tracking features
- Auth0 Account Information (for logged-in experiences): If you choose to sign in or sign up with Auth0, Auth0 provides us with your
auth0_sub(a unique identifier) and may also provideemailandname. We use this information to create/link your Puzzles account and to manage your session.
We do not:
- Collect personal information beyond what you choose to provide
- Sell your personal data for advertising
- Use your game data for advertising targeting
3. Cookie Usage
We use browser cookies to enhance your gaming experience:
- Essential Cookies: Store your player name and game preferences locally in your browser
- Functional Cookies: Remember your difficulty level, region selection, and game progress
- Leaderboard Cookies: Store your display name for leaderboard participation (optional)
- Authentication/Session Cookies: When you log in via Auth0, our server uses a PHP session and may set cookies such as
player_uuid,profile, and other login-related cookies to keep you signed in and personalize your dashboard - Analytics/UX Cookies: We include Google Analytics (gtag) and Hotjar to understand site/game usage and improve the experience. These tools may process identifiers and technical data (such as IP address and device/browser information) according to their own privacy practices
These cookies are stored on your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings. Some cookies may be set by third-party service providers (such as Auth0, Google Analytics, and Hotjar) as part of the features described above.
